12 point deal has no more existence: Gajurel

SINDHULIMADHI, Dec 5: CPN-Maoist Vice-president Chandraprasad Gajurel said the 12-point agreement was not sufficient to address the current political transition. Speaking at a press meet organised by the Revolutionary Journalists´ Association, Sindhuli Chapter on Wednesday he said, “Current situation is different as compared to the time when the 12-point agreement was signed between the then CPN (Maoist) and the then government.

A new agreement is necessary among the political parties to settle the current political crisis.” “The new political consensus is possible only through a roundtable conference,” he added. He said there is no alternative to street protests to remove Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai from government for he has shown no signs of resigning from his post easily.
