Kurdistan Freedom Falcons (Teyrêbazên Azadiya Kurdistan-TAK) announced that the action of self-sacrifice in Istanbul’s Beyazıt district on June 7 was carried out by their militant Eylem Newroz.
TAK said in a written statement that the action of self-sacrifice that targeted riot police in Vezneciler area of Istanbul’s Beyazıt district was conducted by Eylem Newroz, who was a member of the Battalion of the Immortal and commander of the Martyr Rojhat-Munzur Vindicative Unit that conducted the action.
The statement by TAK recalled that dozens of policemen were killed in the action by Eylem Yaşa, nom de guerre Eylem Newroz, who was from the main Kurdish city Amed and spent a large part of her life in the southern province of Antalya.
The statement announced that Eylem Newroz had joined the Kurdistan Freedom Movement in the year of 2005 after she as a Kurdish woman decided to not remain in the system of the Turkish state. “In the wake of activities in various areas, Newroz joined the ranks of TAK in the autumn of 2011 with the goal of inflicting a heavier blow on the enemy. She has since performed successful practices in every activity she took part in, and she finally crowned her struggle with an action of self-sacrifice she had prepared and realized.”
TAK vowed that its combatants commanded by Eylem Newroz would advance on their target with a greater commitment, passion and anger from now on.
