Main accused in Sudesh Paswan’s murder case arrested

Patna: The main accused in the murder case of Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) leader Sudesh Paswan, and his brother, has been arrested in Kachar village of Bihar. The accused, who has been identified as Sohan Yadav, is a top Maoist leader.Earlier on June 3, naxals put up a poster in the Imamganj area of Gaya, claiming responsibility of the murder of the LJP leader. A hand-written pamphlet warned those colluding with the police and being their informers.

DRG Constable injured in naxal attack

A District Reserve Group jawan was injured today when Maoists attacked his patrolling team in Chhattisgarh’s naxal-affected Kodagaon district, police said. DRG Constable Danchu Salam was injured when naxals attacked a joint team of Narayanpur and Kondagaon districts DRG, who were patrolling in Gardapal village area, they said. The naxals fled the spot when the team retaliated.


A female Naxal leader carrying a cash reward of Rs 2 lakh on her arrest, fell in police net during a search operation carried out by security personnel in forested Pakhanjur region of insurgency-hit Kanker district, police said here on Saturday. A team of police personnel consisting of District Force had started from Partapur police station on a search operation. While carrying out the operation at Dogejhora village a suspected woman was spotted, who was nabbed, Sub-Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) Pakhanjur Jai Prakash Badhai informed.

She was later on identified as Pandri alias Ansila (22) resident of Amatola in Chhotbethiya police station limits of the district. “She was a member of military platoon number 5 of banned organisation Communist Party of India (Maoist). She was involved in the murder of man Lalit Ram Dugga, who was killed on April 3 this year’’, the SDOP said.

The State Government had declared reward of Rs 2 lakh on her arrest, he added. The held ultra had joined Maoist cadre in February 2009 as a member of Local Organising Squad (LOS) Medhki. In March 2011 she was shifted to platoon number 5. She was actively involved in spreading Maoist ideology and connecting more people with Naxal organisation, the SDOP said.

Arson attack on construction site in Rajnandgaon


A group of suspected ultras torched the machineries on the construction site of a bridge on Kahudag and Bhaghar River in Bhaghar panchayat of Chouparan block of Hazaribagh district on Friday late evening.
