Three landmines recovered in Chhattisgarh
Raipur, Oct 31 (PTI) Police today recovered three landmines in the Naxal-affected Sukma district of Chhattisgarh, police said. Additional SP Santosh Singh told PTI that the CRPF jawans, who were patrolling in the area, got a tip-off that landmines had been planted along the Bhejji-Injaram road, following which a search. The landmines were defused after the recovery. The police were also conducting a combing operation to nab the ultras, who may have planted them.
Naxals kill Gond youth
Activists of the Communist Party of India (Maoist) on Friday killed a Gond tribal youth, Kursenga Ballal Sha, from the remote Kheriguda village in Tiryani Revenue mandal of Adilabad, accusing him of being a police informer. The violent incident comes after a lapse of more than a decade though movement of the Maoist Mangi dalam had been reported in the area for the last three years. According to sources, the dalam, led by Adilabad Area Committee member Atram Shobhan alias Charles, comprised 10 to 14 armed naxalites. They summoned the 25-year-old graduate, questioned him, and pumped a couple of rounds into him from close range.
