Maoists blow up school in Jharkhand’s Latehar District
Latehar District (Jharkhand), Oct. 12 (ANI): Maoists blew up a school building in Latehar district of Jharkhand on Sunday. The explosion occurred at around 9.30 p.m. in a government school in Serendag village. No casualty was reported, but the blast destroyed three classrooms. The red ultras left some hand written letters and pamphlets at the blast site in which they blamed the police for their action. The letter said that the blast was in retaliation to police damaging the memorial of Maoist leader Bhagwati Singh Kherwal situated in the village. The letter also accused the police of camping inside the school building.
Maoists abduct Driver, set Truck on Fire in Malkangiri
Malkangiri, Oct 12: Maoists set a truck on fire and abducted the driver of the truck on Monday afternoon on Odisha-Chhattisgarh border on Narayanpur in the district. According to reports, the vehicle was on the way to Narayanpur from Munda, which was troched the vehicles by a groups of Maoists in the forest area. Police rushed to the spot and started investigation into the incident.
Arms, ammo seized
Personnel of Border Security Force (BSF) unearthed a secret Maoist dump of arms and ammunition in Malkangiri district of Odisha on Sunday. According to police sources, acting on a tip off regarding presence of Maoists, BSF personnel had started a search operation in Pitakonda forest under Kalimela police station.
The items seized from the Maoist dump included three Single Barrel Muzzle Loaded (SBML) guns, two spare barrels of guns, one hand grenade, one magazine of AK-47 rifle, 18 rounds of AK-47 ammunition, five detonators, other things of Maoist use like their propaganda materials, clothes, medicines etc.
Maoist arrested, huge cache of bombs seized in Bihar
Gaya: A hardcore Maoist was arrested on Monday and a huge cache of explosives seized during a joint operation in Mathurapur village. SSP Manu Maharaj said on the basis of information obtained from the arrested Maoist, the police seized four cane bombs, each weighing 30 kg from Mathurapur village. A large quantity of explosives was also recovered from Dumaria village and other places falling under Imamganj Assembly constituency, the SSP said.
The arrested person belonging to proscribed CPI Maoist outfit has been identified as Vinod Yadav, the SSP said. The Maoist was arrested during a joint operation by state police and CRPF’s Cobra unit in the district in view of the elections. A huge cache of cane bombs and IEDs were also seized from Mohanpur police station limits of the district, he said.
Maoists kill man by slitting throat
Malkangiri: Maoists on Sunday killed a person by slitting his throat with a sharp weapon at Erabora haat in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh bordering Malkangiri. A group of Maoist barged into the haat and took one Ganga Padiami with them. Later, they killed him by slitting his throat. The ultras left a note stating that the deceased was persuading the Maoists to lay down their arms and surrender before the police. Following the incident, the CRPF personnel have started combing operation in the area to track the ultras.
