Biplabi Communist Party (M-L) leader killed in Jessore Sadar


Outlawed party leader shot dead

A suspected top leader of an outlawed party was shot to death by some miscreants at Sharshunadah Bazar in Jessore Sadar upazila on Wednesday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Mofzel alias Bere Mofzel alias Naxal Mofzel, 54, reportedly Jessore regional commander of banned outfit Biplabi Communist Party (M-L). Second officer of Jessore Kotwali Police Station Mizanur Rahman said a gang of criminals swooped on Mofzel around 1:30pm while he along with his two associates was sitting at a tea stall at the bazaar.

One of the attackers clad in veil opened fire on the outlawed party leader. As Mofzel collapsed on the ground, other criminals chopped him with sharp weapons. The attackers fled the scene chanting slogans ensuring that Mofzel was dead. When contacted, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station Shikdar Akkas Ali confirmed the incident, according to a news agency
