Suspected ultra party man killed in gunfight
A suspected leaders of an outlawed party was killed in what the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) claimed a ‘gunfight’ with his associates Tangail Sadar Upazila on Friday. RAB-12 official identified the deceased as Mojibur Rahman Sheke, 40, a regional commander of Purba Bangla Communist Party (ML) – a banned extremist party. Commander of RAB-12 Additional Police Super Mohiuddin Faruki said, “The deceased was an accused in 18 criminal cases.”
The encounter took place in Shyamarghat in Sadar Uapzila. The law enforcers retaliated by firing. At one stage, both the clashing groups fled the scene. Later, RAB found the blood-stained body of Sheke. One pistol, two bullets and one magazine were also recovered from the spot. The body was sent to Tangail Medical College Hospital for autopsy. A case was filed, according to a news agency.
