Two Naxals arrested in Sukma

Police arrested two Naxals during a search operation carried out in a village under Gadiras police station of insurgency hit Sukma district, a senior police officer said on Saturday.The held ultras were identified as Kartami Mukesh alias Mukka and Kawasi Deva both resident of Bhusaram village under Gadiras police station.“We had got information that both Naxals had reached their village and accordingly a team of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and district police was formed which was immediately sent to the spot.

Odisha, Jharkhand cops to meet on Red threat

ROURKELA: Considering the fact that the Maoists are sneaking into Sundargarh district from Jharkhand, Odisha police are planning to organize a joint meeting with senior police officers of the neighbouring state in July, DGP Sanjeev Marik said here on Saturday. He said police are contemplating to redeploy forces in certain areas within western range from where jawans were withdrawn due to security reasons. “As the situation has changed, we will go for proactive measures,” Marik told the media here during his one-day visit to the district.
