Security forces warn of Maoist strike in Bastar
Security personnel in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region have been asked to remain extra cautious following inputs of a possibility of further strikes by the Naxals. The warning was issued as the Maoists are facing an acute shortage of arms and ammunition and might carry their strikes to continue their guerrilla war. Security forces have also been told to disrupt the availability of rations to Naxals in the insurgency-hit region, according to a police communique.
One Maoist arrested in Odisha’s Malkangiri District
Malkangiri (Odisha), Oct. 3 (ANI): Border Security Force ( BSF) and Malkangiri District Police have confirmed the arrest of a Maoist cadre going by the name of Singa Kattami. “Singa Kattami pseudonym Mahesh (25), who is a resident of Tagoorkota village under Motu police station limits, was arrested from Sudhakonda area,” informed Mitrabhanu Mohapatra, Superintendent of Police of Malkangiri.
US to sell India MRAP vehicles
The enhanced security cooperation with the US shows the active engagement of national security adviser Ajit Doval, who has been pushing this cooperation. Doval stayed back in the US to take this forward. The US will also sell the famous MRAP vehicles to India to counter IEDs. Maoist cadre arrested from Kanker district of Chhattisgarh
Raipur: A Maoist cadre was arrested from insurgency-hit Kanker district of Chhattisgarh on Friday, police said. Naresh Usendi (18) was apprehended from Edanar village forests under Tadoki police station limits, Kanker Superintendent of Police RN Dash told PTI here today. A joint squad of the local police and the Border Security Force (BSF) carrying out search operation in the Tadoki forests, around 250 km away from the state capital, spotted a suspect near Edanar and rounded him up after a chase, the official said.
