Top Naxal arrested in Odisha
A most wanted Maoist of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, Tella Anil Kumar alias Chandu, 40, who carried a reward of Rs. 40 lakh on his head, was arrested in Koraput district on Friday night. He was part of the nine-member core committee of the Andhra Odisha Border State Zonal Committee (AOBSZC), which is headed by Akkiraju Haragopal alias Ramakrishna (RK) with more than 250 armed cadres. He was heading the intelligence wing of Maoists of Malkangiri division, Koraput-Srikakulam Division and East Visakha division. He was operating in Koraput, Malkangiri, Visakhapatnam rural, Vizainagaram districts of A.P. and Odisha, police sources said.
Suspected Naxal arrested in Bijapur
Security forces have apprehended a suspected Naxalite along with some arms and ammunition from the Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. According to sources, a squad of CRPF and state police were out for an anti-Naxal operation in the Takilod-Donga area of Bhairamgarh when an alleged Maoist identified as Markam Bomra was apprehended. Bomra is said to be the commander of a local Naxal group operating in the area, the sources added.
