UCPN (Maoist) cadres thrashed in Thabang
ROLPA, Nov 20: Overjoyed by zero turnout in Thabang village of Rolpa district, cadres of the Mohan Baidya-led CPN-Maoist have thrashed cadres of the UCPN (Maoist). The CPN-Maoist cadres, who celebrated zero turnout as their victory, beat up five UCPN (Maoist) cadres while taking out a rally in Thabang on Monday evening. The UCPN (Maoist) cadres beaten up by the CPN-Maoist cadres have been identified as Chitra Gharti Magar of Thabang-1, Nispad Gharti Magar and Somet Gharti Magar of Thabang-2, Dipak Rokka Magar of Thabang-6 and Ajit Jhakri Magar of Thabang-8. The CPN-Maoist cadres also hurled stones at the house of UCPN (Maoist) cadre Rishan Gharti Magar in Thabang-1. While Rishan saved his live by fleeing into a nearby wood, other UCPN (Maoist) cadres have sustained injuries.
China welcomes CA polls
KATHMANDU: China has welcomed the successful holding of Constituent Assembly (CA) elections in Nepal. Asked about the reaction of the Chinese side on the CA election during a regular press briefing, a spokesperson for the the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said China as a friendly neighbor of Nepal welcomes the CA polls that was held smoothly in Nepal. “[China] sincerely hopes that the political forces in Nepal continue to strengthen dialogue and consultations for the early completion of the constitution-making process and realization of national stability and development,” the spokesperson said.
