More protests in the offing‚ warns Gajurel
KATHMANDU: Vice-chairman of CPN-Maoist CP Gajurel today said that his party led 33-party alliance will come up with stern protest programmes soon as the authorities remained indifferent to their demands. Gajurel said the politburo meeting of his party scheduled for tomorrow and central committee meeting scheduled for Thursday will come up with stern protest programmes since the government and the President failed to address their demands.
Addressing a function organised by the Bhakta Bahadur Shrestha Memorial Academy here today Gajurel said his party will take talks and struggle simultaneously as they did before the 12-point agreement was signed. He said the fight was among the two Maoists – one heading towards regressive path, while the other struggling for change in the country.
Gajurel further said though his party was for talks there was very slim chance of talks because the authorities have not shown interest on the demands raised by the 33 parties. On his part, UML’s Raghuji Panta said today’s situation was the result of a planned strategy of people’s war implanted by foreign power centres. Matrika Yadav of CPN (Maoist) alleged that the leaders have been amassing large amount of money by obliging to foreign power centres.
