CPN-M warns of another uprising
KATHMANDU: Secretary of the CPN-Maoist Dev Prasad Gurung today warned that formation of an election government under Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmi will stoke what he called ‘the third people’s movement’. “Third people’s movement is inevitable if the government and the parties remain indifferent to our demands‚” Gurung said at a press meet organised at the party’s Buddhanagar-based headquarters to make public the decisions taken at the meeting held between leaders of the CPN-Maoist-led Federal Republican National Front Nepal (FRNFN) and the Kishor Kumar Biswas-led FRNFN.
The two bodies have forged an alliance for a joint fight to topple the Baburam Bhattarai-led government and replace it with a national consensus dispensation. Asked why they have not presented an alternative to Prime Minister Bhattarai‚ Gurung said presenting an alternative will only give the incumbent government a new lease of life.
Nepal: Sikkimisation process is in progress, says Dev Gurung
What is the guarantee that the ruling four-party syndicate will not sell the country to India, asked Secretary Dev Gurung of Nepal Communist Party-Maoist while addressing an interaction program in Pokhara of Kaski District March 10, 2013. “The process of Sikkimizaiton has already begun,” he said in the program organized by Tamuwan State Committee. “They have totally surrendered themselves to the foreigners. Those who prefer to follow the foreign diktats could easily submit the sanctity of their motherland to the foreigners,” he explained. “The four party syndicate is trying to eliminate the country from the world map. The only way to save the country is through a fierce uprising,” he also said.
