CPN-Maoist calls off Sunday banda

KATHMANDU, Nov 21: CPN-Maoist cancelled Nepal banda called for Sunday, a press statement issued by the party said on Wednesday. In a bid to exert pressure on the government to implement its 70-point demand, the CPN-Maoist had unveiled a series of protest programs including Sunday banda, obstructing vehicles with Indian number plates and screening of Hindi movies in Nepal, among others. However, the party has said it will go with other protest programs. The CPN-Maoist had put forth a 70-point demand to the government related to nationality, livelihood and ways to end the existing political deadlock in the country on September 5
