KATHMANDU: All Nepal Revolutionary Trade Union Federation (ANRTUF) aligned to the CPN-Maoist, has put up its flag on the gate of the state-owned Himal Cement Factory based in Chobhar on Thursday afternoon. Maoist cadres affiliated to Baidhya-led CPN-M said they have taken the factory under control after the management of the Himal Cement Factory started selling equipments of the factory at the price of scrap goods misusing the authority. “Acting on a tip off that the factory has been captured by the Maoist cadres, we rushed to the factory where we noticed a flag of ANRTUF aligned to the CPN-Maoist on the gate of the factory. But we did not see any cadres taking over the factory,” said Inspector Gyan Kumar Mahato of Area Police Station, Kirtipur.
“We have put a flag on the factory to mount pressure on the government to protect the state’s assets,” said Ramdip Acharya, Chairman of ANRTUF, warning that they would not allow the government to take any equipments out of the factory until it ensures the factory’s protection.
