This is for the second time in a month, influential Nepal Communist Party-Maoist leader Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’ has quietly sneaked into Beijing.
Biplav, according to reports, had gone to Beijing August 28, 2012 to meet the Chinese leaders. However, under whose invitation he is on a trip to China is a mystery.
Why it should be a mystery after all when visiting delhi is not? After all both were Nepal’s neighbors.
According to Nagarik National Daily, while in Beijing he is scheduled to meet some leaders of Chinese communist party.
He will return home Friday September 7, 2012.
Biplav is accompanied by an unidentified party leader, it is also reported.
To recall, only a month ago, the Chairman of the newly formed NC-Maoists, Mohan baidya Kiran had been invited to Beijing wherein he is supposed to have met “key” Communist party officials. Netra Bikram Chanda is taken as a strong nationalist leader inside the NCP-Maoists.
Thus analysts presume that the Beijing trip of Biplav must have meaning of high import.
Unsubstantiated reports have it that some more NCP-Maoists leaders are to visit Beijing.
Does this mean that Beijing has become now extra-sensitive for the preservation of its own prime security interests? Logic is there.
