Odisha: CMAS activists protest against the killing of Rajendra in police encounter

Report by Manoranjan Routray; Koraput: Activists of Chasi Mulia Adivasi Sangha (CMAS) today protested against the killing of Rajendra in police encounter. More than 3000 people of Chasi Mulia Adivasi Sangha (CMAS) of Bandhugaon block today, protest against the police encounter occurred on Sunday last.

They alleged that the district police killed Rajendra alise Teli Kadraka in a fake encounter in the name of Maoist. The members of CMAS from four Gram Panchayats Garedi, Kumbhariput, Jaguguda and Kutraguda of Bandhugaon block were organised a rally from Kumbhariput Hatapada to Tikarapada where, they hold a meeting and also blocked the road for 4 hours in protest againist the police encounter.

Rajendra was an innocent and no way connected to any Maoists activities said the leaders of CMAS in the meeting. He was killed brutally by the security personals while he was going to his Kudia from his village Bada Mattur. They decided in the meeting that they will submit a memorandum to the District Magistrate through the BDO, Bandhugaon on Wednesday by demanding the judicial inquiry of the fake encounter. In this meeitng CMAS leaders like Melka Ramarao, Melka Arati and Melka Suna were present and condemned the killing of Rajendra in police encounter.
