Bhopal: The lives of Public Health Engineering (PHE) minister Gauri Shankar Bisen, IPS Sachin Atulklar and three BJP MLA’s in Balaghat are under severe threat from the Maoists, says fresh intelligence inputs.
State police have intensified search operations in entire Balaghat district and revived security arrangements following Maoists plans to target these persons to avenge killings of their two commanders in police encounter in May this year.
According to police sources, Maoists have formed a new squad, comprising members of three dalams, to execute their targets. Sources said, the decision to retaliate the encounter was taken during a Maoists meeting organized to ‘martyrs week’ at Balaghta’s Mohurkheda village.
Most wanted Moist Suraj was also present, said sources.
Maoists observed martyrs week from July 28 to August 3. Two weeks ago police had seized Moist literature especially pamphlets urging the local people to join them to observe the martyrs week from the interior villages under the Rupjhar police station.
The pamphlets, according to Intelligence sources, had strong words against the state government and the police force for killing their two colleagues – Teju Singh of Malajkhand Dalam and Saguna of Darekasa Dalam– in an encounter on May 26 under the same police station area.
