KATHMANDU: Chairman of CPN-Maoist Mohan Baidhya today alleged the government led by Baburam Bhattarai has been engaged in anti-national activities and should therefore pave the way for a national government.
“Since people’s constitution is not possible, a round table conference can only be the right option to find the way out of the exist-ing political crisis,” Baidhya said. He was addressing the party’s programme on ‘Question of National Independence’ organised by the CPN-Unified in the Capital today.
For this, Baidhya said, the Prime Minister Bhattarai government must step down first. He urged
the intellectuals of the country to fight for the national independence along with peace and constitution.
On his part, CPN-Maoist leader Matrika Yadav said that a massive movement should be launched
to oust Bhattarai from his chair and only after that parties could think of any options whether it is
a round table conference, reinstating the Constituent Assembly or going for the fresh elections anytime this year or later.
General Secretary of Revolutionary Communist Party, Mani Thapa, emphasized on the need of a movement against Indian expansionism.
