Three Maoists arrested in Arunachal

Guwahati, July 26 (IBNS): Security forces have arrested three maoist cadres in Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday, police said on Thursday.

Acting on a tip-off, a joint of Assam Rifles and Special Investigation Team (SIT) had launched a search operation at Kaupatani village under Mahadevpur police station in Lohit district in the hill state and apprehended the Maoist cadres.

The nabbed Maoist rebels were identified as Totong Neog, Nipen Jyoti Chetia and Jintu Chetia.

Security forces seized extortion notes, mobile phones and SIM cards in their possession.

Meanwhile, security forces also arrested a militant of United Democratic Front of Bodoland (UDFB) from Namsai area on Thursday.

The nabbed militant was identified as Bitu Chakma.
