KATHMANDU: Leader of the dissenting faction of the Unified CPN-Maoist Mohan Baidhya Kiran on Saturday said the national cadres’ gathering is all set to announce a new party.
Addressing the national conclave at Sherpa Gumba in Bouddha, leader Baidhya came down heavily upon the establishment, accusing them of betraying the faction and compelling them to break away from the party, adding that the new party will carry out the remaining tasks of the people’s revolution.
Programme has it that Senior Vice-chairman Mohan Baidhya will put forth a political proposal; General Secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa will float an organisational proposal while Secretary CP Gajurel will submit a proposal on contemporary issues, including the joint fronts.
Similarly, Standing Committee member Netra Bikram Chand will float a financial proposal while Standing Committee member Dev Prasad Gurung will put forth a proposal on the Statute of the new communist party.
The gathering is expected to discuss structural framework of a new communist party, besides assessing political developments in the country and within the party after the historical Chunbang meeting of the party.
