Journalist, Naxal held in Chhattisgarh, ammunition seized

Raipur, Jun 14(PTI) The Chhattisgarh police today arrested an alleged Naxal as also a journalist and seized 160 rounds of SLR rifle and pistol. Senior Superintendent of Police Deepanshu Kabra told PTI that a Naxal called Bablu was arrested today and ammunition along with a pistol seized from him. Besides, a journalist called Sheikh Anwar who had allegedly procured weapons and ammunition for the ultras was also arrested. Two days ago police had arrested Anwar’s wife Anjali Chouhan and another Naxal Mujib and seized 270 rounds from them and their questioning led to the arrest of Bablu and Anwar, according to police.. Kabra said that Anwar works as a journalist in the Naxal-affected Kota area. He along with one Ishaq Khan from Andhra Pradesh had procured the rounds either from police or the paramilitary forces for supply to the Naxals and police are on the lookout for Ishaq, he said.
