Two arrested in UP for illegal supply of arms

Bulandshahr (Uttar Pradesh), May 14(ANI): The police in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, have arrested two men involved in the illegal supply of arms to Maoists and also seized three foreign made pistols.

The arrested have been identified as Rajkumar and Tulsi.

Briefing reporters, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Gulab Singh said the police hoped to make further breakthroughs soon.

” We hope to recover more arms from them and we are almost aware of the source from where the arms were being purchased. The three pistols that have been recovered are USA and Italy made and is basically found in Maoist areas and is supplied in rebel-infested areas. We will find out more details during the course of the probe,” Singh said.

One of the arrested accused, Tulsi, said they had purchased the arms from the state’s Jaithra region.

“We bring these arms from Jaithra near Etah. We purchase these arms for Rs.15000 and sell them for Rs. 20000 to Rs. 25000 rupees,” he said. (ANI).
