Suspected NPA leader nabbed in Surigao

MANILA, Philippines – A suspected rebel leader of the New People’s Army (NPA) was arrested by authorities in Lianga, Surigao del Sur early Thursday.

The suspect was identified as Teddy Domandan Bager, who is allegedly a political instructor of the NPA’s Front Committee 19-B.

Recovered from Bager were 3 mobile phones, a memory card, 5 chargers, 8 SIM packs, a grenade, and nearly P10,000 cash.

Authorities said Bager was part of the group that attempted to raid Lianga Municipal Police Station last April 28.

He is facing charges of rebellion. —
