Two SAF teams rushed to Naxal-hit Balaghat in MP

Bhopal, Apr 26 (PTI) The Madhya Pradesh Police Headquarters (PHQ) here has rushed two teams of Special Armed Force (SAF) to the Maoist-infested Balaghat district in view of increased naxal activities in the region. Inspector-General of Police Anvesh Mangalam has also been sent to help deal with the situation there as he has worked as IG in Balaghat for some time. The IG is expected to hold discussions with the local police and will oversee the need for further deployment in the district. The outlaws had recently burnt a porclain machine, used in excavation for road construction. A number of incidents in Balaghat recently has alarmed e Madhya Pradesh police which wants to deal with the situation firmly. The naxal had also left pamphlets with messages that warned the administration against the construction of roads in the forests. On his return, Mangalam would submit a report to the State DGP about the situation in Balaghat.
