Naxals abducted a forest guard and three others from Sono jungles in Jamui, Bihar, on Wednesday.
The incident came to light on Friday when the ultras called up the forest guard Naresh Singh’s son for ransom of Rs 10 lakh.
The police said the incident took place late on Wednesday night at Amjhari village under Naxal-infested Sono when over a dozen armed rebels abducted forest guard Naresh Singh and three others from neighbouring jungle where the forest department has been doing plantation on a 50-acre land.
The Maoists had objected to the plantation.
Abducted forest guard’s son Shamsher Singh lodged an FIR at Sono police station. He told Jamui Superintendent of Police U K Sharma that the Naxals called from his father’s mobile on his number demanding Rs 10 lakh ransom.
This is the sixth case of abduction in Jamui in the past two months.
