Cops nab wanted Maoist

VARANASI: Sonbhadra police nabbed a wanted Maoist, Guddu alias Ramkeval Urao, following an encounter near Patwadh village under Chopan police station limits on Tuesday night. According to reports, Sonbhadra cops reached Patwadh village after getting a tip off regarding the presence of Maoist commander Munna Vishwakarma’s gang members. Sensing danger, Guddu who had taken shelter in this village tried to escape, but the cops foiled his bid and nabbed him with a country-made revolver and live cartridges.

Police said that Guddu belongs to Bhabhua district in Bihar and was operating with the gang of Munna Vishwakarma. He was involved in 11 criminal cases registered in Bihar, UP and other states. The police had announced a cash reward of Rs 5,000 on him.
