Odisha Police arrest four Maoists near Bisra

Sundargar: Odisha Police today arrest four Maoists near Bisra in Sundargarh district and explosives being seized from their possession while the while the security forces embarked on a massive combing operation on the Odisha-Chhattisgarh border.

The Maoists were nabbed from Kaliaposh area under Bisra police station bordering Saranda forests, about 40 km from here on Thursday night, Rourkela Superintendent of Police, Himansu Lal said. They were arrested during a special operation by the police, CRPF and district voluntary force while planning to plant the landmine.

The Maoists burnt a jeep and a motorcycle in Koraput district on Thursday night near village Katulupatta under the Maoist-infested  Bandhugaon block limits.

Sources said one Prakash Debarpulli, an illicit liquor vendor used to transport illicit liquor regularly from Almonda village to Bandhugaon. On Thursday night he was transporting a huge quantity of such country liquor by plastic jerkins to Bandhugaon by a Commander jeep. While the jeep was plying from Almonda towards Bandhugaon in the night, a group of about 25  Maoists detained the jeep near Katulupetta and searched the vehicle.
