Gondia: Following the arrest of three hard-core Naxalites from Tekatola and Timbhutola villages in Salekasa tehsil on March 19, cops believe Naxals are planning ‘something big’, like in Orissa.
The arrest of the three Maoists also confirms the presence of Naxals in Gondia district. Sources in police department said that during the investigation, the Naxals revealed that Dr Dilip Nagpure of Pangaon village, 4km from Salekasa, was not only a Naxal sympathizer but he was actively involved in helping them.
He had two youths – Roshan Tekam and Ramesh Parteti – who were doing small things like distributing Naxal literature or pasting banners etc. The doctor was arrested on March 24 and offence was registered against him. Now, these two youths are absconding.
During investigations, the names all 23 Naxalites who killed Vishnu Thakre of Toyagondi in July 2010 were disclosed. Offences have been registered against all 23 Naxalites. The Naxalites also disclosed that an accomplice had taken a room on rent in a village, 5km from Gondia.
