Maoists shot dead Odisha police Sub-Inspector

Malkangiri (Odisha): At a time when the  Maoists demanding to stop anti-naxal movement, the red ultras on the other hand continues to spell reign of terror in the State.

In the latest attack, the suspected Maoist rebels have shot dead  Khairput police station Sub-Inspector Krushna Chandra Ratha at Khairput, some 65 km from here today evening.

According to the sources about 3-4 rebels armed with sophisticated weapons fired indiscriminately at the police officer at about 6.15 pm today evening while he was taking tea in a nearby tea stall ,just 500 meters from the Khairput police station and 1 km from the local BSF camp.

Later, the rebels fled the spot while shouting anti-government slogans, said one police official requesting anonymity.

People in the area have become panic after the incident and a reign of terror has prevailed in Khairput area. How neither the police nor the Border Security Forces could not know about the incident which took place just 500 meter from the Khairput police station, is a big question mark that certainly needs to be answered.

The dead body was lying on the spot and local police and BSF personnel’s were rushed to the spot till the report last came in.
