Refugees in Ain al-Hilweh protest Lebanese army’s tightened security measures

The National News Agency (NNA) reported on Monday that a “Palestinian force” located in Ain al-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp in South Lebanon, has contained a demonstration calling for relaxing security measures taken by the Lebanese army at the entrances of the camp.

The report said that young demonstrators tried to approach a Lebanese army checkpoint and burned tires as an act of protest.

The incident mobilized the army and Palestinian forces “immediately” made efforts to pull out the demonstrators and extinguish the burning tires, the NNA report said.
