KATHMANDU: The CPN-Maoist has agreed, in principle, to make preparations for the ‘people’s war’ stating that the path that the UCPN-Maoist is treading at present will not help further this cause in any way.
The ad hoc central committee of the CPN-M made this decision today. Today’s ad hoc central committee meeting of the Maoist party stressed the need to revive the slogan ‘Let’s move ahead on the path of new people’s democratic movement’, which the UCPN-Maoist has dumped, to intensify class struggle in rural areas, the CPN-M said in a press statement issued after the party’s press conference today.
Party chairman Matrika Yadav claimed that the UCPN-Maoist has failed to address major issues raised during the people’s war and also the contradictions of the Nepali people.
The party has decided to adopt a strategy to bring the Mohan Baidhya-led UCPN-M faction into its fold for the sake of people’s revolt.
