‘Maoists’ torch road construction machinery

Medininagar (Jharkhand), Dec 21 (PTI) Suspected Maoists today set ablaze equipment used for road construction work at Chitra in Naxal-hit Palamu district, police said. Police said a group of ultras arrived at the road construction site and set on fire heavy machinery, used in road construction work, Deputy Superintendent of Police Girish Pandey said. He said the equipment belonged to a contractors firm engaged in the work. The ultras also warned the employees of the firm and set them free, he said adding that a police team rushed to the spot to take stock of the situation.
