Maoists razed a government school in Bihar’s Jamui district, in the second such attack in the State this week. Local reports said members of the Communist Party of India (Maoist) sized a couple of JCB excavators from a private construction company and destroyed the two-storey building in Sono block. Earlier this week, militants dynamited a middle school in Gaya district.
While their aim was to prevent paramilitary forces from using school buildings, Jamui Superintendent of Police R.N. Singh told The Hindu that the Central forces had rarely used this particular building during their patrolling and combing operations.
