After Kishenji, forces hunt for top Maoist RK

JEYPORE: Security forces of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha have intensified combing operation in the bordering forest areas with intelligence reports hinting at presence of top Maoist leader Ram Krishna alias RK near Narayanpatna in Koraput district.

With the killing of Kishenji in West Bengal, speculations abound about Maoists’ leaders hiding in forests here.

The joint operation team is on the hunt for RK in the camps run by Maoists in the bordering Narayanpatna and Parvatipuram forests. The security forces are already upbeat with the arrest of over 10 cadres including a woman in Koraput and Malkangiri region.

The recent seizure of explosives near Rayagada also provided important clues on the camps, sources said. The operation has, however, created panic among the villagers of the bordering pockets with many flee villages for safety.
