About 4,000 workers at the PT Suzuki Indomobil car and motorcycle assembly plant in South Tambun, Bekasi, West Java, went on strike for the third day on Friday, paralyzing production.
Coordinator of the strike, Jacob, said the workers demanded that the company immediately pay year-end bonuses, meal allowances, health expenses and overtime payments. In addition, they also asked the
company to pay the pension allowances, of up to Rp 7.5 million (US$830) each, to 105 people, tempo.co reported.
Due to the strike all production activity was brought to a standstill and raw materials could not be brought into the factory.
