This incident took place during the early on Tuesday.

Maoists claimed responsibility for the incident through a letter that they left pasted on a tree felled by them.

Truck driver Bhajana Dandasena recalled the shocking incident and complained that nobody came forth to rescue him till dawn.

“We did not know anything. When we reached here the Maoists told us to get down from the truck and asked us to keep quiet. Then, they set the truck on fire and asked us to leave,” said Dandasena.

The truck driver also exposed about the police’s reluctance to help, as they did not allow the fire brigade to reach the spot to douse the fire.

“We had informed the police and the fire brigade, but the police did not give clearance to the fire brigade to come at night. When they reached here, the truck was burnt,” he added.
