Naxals intercept bus, paste posters on it

A group of armed Maoists intercepted a Narsipatnam-bound APSRTC bus at Devarapalli village in Chintapalli mandal on Thursday night and pasted posters and pamphlets condemning the encounter in West Bengal earlier in the day in which one of its top leaders, Kishanji, and four others were killed.

According to reports, the Maoists also vowed to avenge the death of Kishanji, who for over two decades had worked in Orissa, Chhattisgarh and later in West Bengal to strengthen the party and carried a reward of Rs. 12 lakh, announced by the Andhra Pradesh government on his head. Meanwhile, police stepped up combing operations on the Andhra Pradesh-Orissa border.
