Maoists sympathiser arrested

Jamshedpur, Nov 21 (PTI) A CPI (Maoists) sympathiser was arrested from naxal-affected Chowka area in the adjoining Saraikela-Kharswan district, police said today. 23-year-old Raj Mohan Mahto alias Raju was arrested last night while conspiring to blow up a patrolling police team of Chowka, said the officer-in-charge of police station Ram Awadh Singh. Mahto had joined a Maoists squad led by Vishal and Maharaj, who were working under area commander Kundan Pahan. Mahto used to provide logistic support to the ultra outfit and recently delivered sweaters, socks etc, besides food, Singh said adding that Mahto was directed by the ultra group to provide inputs about police activities. Mahto had confessed his involvement with the Maoists during the interrogation today, police said. A mobile phone and Naxalite literatures were recovered from his possession, they said adding that Mahto has been forwarded to Saraikela jail today.
