Unity Garment workers’ strike halt production

Production at Ndola’s Unity Garments Limited came to a halt this morning when workers protested against what they described as harsh treatment.

The workers have accused their superiors of abusing them.

The workers are further claiming that they are not allowed to visit the restroom while in the factory; a situation they say is mostly affecting the nature of women.

They also claim that the place has no proper ventilation.

The workers further allege that despite all the harsh treatment and conditions they are subjected to, their monthly salaries are very minimal.

Meanwhile, management could not issue any comments as it was still in a meeting with the workers’ union representatives.
