The Gadchiroli police on Monday raided a Naxal camp near the Chhattisgarh border in southern part of the district, recovering a cartload of rations and literature from the spot.
“We had launched an operation in the morning based on information about a camp of about 80 Naxals near Damrancha, our last post near Chhattisgarh border in Aheri tahsil’s western border. There was an exchange of fire for about 30 minutes after which the Naxals fled the spot, leaving behind a lot of material,” SP Veeresh Prabhu told The Indian Express.
“The material contains a lot of shoulder bags, huge quantity of foodgrains and literature that suggests they were planning some formation,” Prabhu said.
“Our search is still on,” the SP added.
Meanwhile, Naxals killed a young man from Perimili village in Aheri on Sunday, suspecting him to be a police informer.
