Strike at Russian Ford plant

Workers of the Ford plant in a Russian town near St. Petersburg have carried out a preventive strike caused by dissatisfaction with work and rest conditions offered by the employer, the Ford Motor company.

In particular, the work schedule does not suit the workers. 450 employees, or 75% of the shift,  took part in last night’s action.

The plant opened in 2002 and became the first foreign car factory in Russia completely owned by an international company.
