Sidon residents burn tires in protest of power cuts

SIDON: A group of young people burned tires in the middle of Riad Solh street in Sidon Friday evening, to protest power cuts.

Security sources told The Daily Star that the individuals responsible for the protest had arrived from the Old City of Sidon, which was pitch black in the evening due to the power cuts and the inability of many residents to afford payments for back-up generators or alternative power supplies.
