Peshawar—People Worker Union (PWU) of Rahman cotton mills Tahht Bhai observed a token protest camp against the mills administration out side Peshawar press club (PPC) on Thursday.
In the protest camp, banners and placards were displayed inscribed with different anti capitalism slogans and condemnation the presence and interference of foreign forces in Afghanistan and urge the international community let the Afghan people decide about their future. Talking to reporters Anwar Zeb said the mills administration had suspended senior office bearers of the union illegally and on baseless allegations. Those suspended including Sherzada, a senior vice president, Haji Yaqoob Khan, vice president, Mukader Shah, joint secretary, Ikram Uddin and other members for the last four months.
He said the government had neither taken any solid steps to solve the issue nor was interest in it while on the other hand responsible officers in labour organisations were receiving huge salaries on the name of workers but government had become a silent spectator in this regard.
