Telecom Egypt Strike Continues After Bonus Concession, Alam Says

A strike at Telecom Egypt (ETEL) has continued for almost two weeks even after the company said it would give employees a bonus before an Egyptian public holiday next month, Al Alam Al Youm reported.

The workers are holding daily one-hour work stoppages at the company’s branches, the Cairo-based newspaper said, citing a coalition of the strikers. They employees demand better pay and the resignation of Chief Executive Officer Mohammed Abdel Rehim.
