Giving a jolt to top Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda’s wife Subhashree Panda alias Milee, the Gunpur ADJ court in Rayagada district rejected her bail plea today. This has once again disappointed her family member’s. Earlier on Monday, the Gunpur SDJM, rejected her bail application and sent her to judicial custody till October 25 in a criminal case of 2003.
This happened two days after Orissa High Court quashed a lower court proceedings against her under the Unlawful Activities of Prevention Act (UAPA). Subhashree Panda, who was languishing in the Bhubaneswar Special jail ever since she was arrested under UAPA in Januaray 2010, was taken to Gunupur amidst tight security by the Rayagada police and produced before the SDJM court there
.The Rayagada police had registered a case against her in 2003 in connection with an exchange of fire between the police and Maoists inside Gudari forest. The police had charge sheeted Subhashree and her husband besides 31 others, in connection with the incident.
Parents of Subhashree, Dhanurdhar Dash & Jyosthna Dash were present while the court was hearing the bail application of their daughter amidst tight security today.
After the ADJ court dismissed the bail plea, Shubhashree may now move to Supreme Court to make her voice listened, sources said.
