At least 13 students were wounded during clash with police personnel as angry students in Gujranwala ransacked the board office’s and torched board building, media reported on Saturday.
Hundreds of students protested outside the Gujranwala board and blocked the traffic. The students were annoyed over wrong results that were published online, reports said.
Thousands of students took onto street on Saturday protest, while Police resorted to baton charge that agitated the students.
Enraged students stormed into the board office and torched record of different departments of board including Store Branch, Computer Section, Finance Department, Copy Section and other sections.
13 students were sustained injuries during clash with police while police arrested over 50 students for making unrest in the city.
Students were demanding removal of IT head of the board while Punjab government asked students to remain calm and promised to take appropriate action against those who were responsible for errors in the result.
The online system of Gujranwala Board of Intermediate Education had problems that resulted in publishing wrong results.
The protests have spread across the different cities of Punjab including, Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, Gujrat, Rahim Yar Khan and others.
