Policeman kills motorcyclist over particulars

A protest broke out yesterday in the Abiji Nkpor, Ikom Local Government Area, of Cross River State, after a Police officer shot dead one Mr. Bachott Ese, a motorcyclist in the area.

According to an eyewitness, some police officers had flagged down late Ese during a vehicle inspection, and asked for his Okada particulars. A disagreement ensued between the deceased and the security agents, which led to a sergeant bringing out his gun and shooting the motorcyclist at close range.

The police officers were reported to have left the scene after the incident, as angry youths made their way to the police station at Four-Corners, demanding justice for the unlawful killing of the motorcyclist.
