Maoists on Friday damaged an APSRTC bus, breaking the window panes including the windshield and cutting the seats at Dandabadi village on the Parvatipuram and Narayanpatna route, demanding court-forwarding of Maoist Leader Damodar who was arrested on September 25.
Sources said about eight uniformed Maoists with arms stopped the APSRTC bus plying from Parvatipuram (AP) to Narayanpatna at about 1 pm at Dandabadi village and asked the driver, staff and other passengers to get down with their luggage. When the bus became empty, they broke the windows including the windshield and also cut the seats into pieces, damaging seating arrangements in the bus.
Later, they pasted a letter on the bus wherein they demanded court-forwarding of their leader Damodar.
They also warned the police that if their leader was not produced before any court, such type of incidents would be repeated.
