Metn residents resume protest against frequency transmitter

Residents of the Metn towns of Ain Saadeh and Mansourieh protested for a third day against a decision to erect a high-voltage electric post in the area, the National News Agency reported on Friday.

The report also said that security forces heavily deployed in the area, adding that the residents said in a statement that they will continue to protest until the issue is resolved.

On Wednesday and Thursday the residents of Ain Saadeh also demonstrated against the project. They have repeatedly called for re-locating the frequency transmission line, adding that it has “unhealthy” effects on the population.
